AMOOSEDWEB EXTENSION
Privacy
This page describes the amoosed.com Chrome extension prototype. Last updated 20 October 2026.
What the extension reads
When you open its side panel, the extension reads the active tab's address to identify the website. It requests permission for that website's origin before fetching its favicon and binary carrier files. These files are used to detect and verify AmoosedWeb content. The extension may also observe the site's boot progress and show carrier diagnostics in its panel.
Content keys
If you enter a site owner's content key, the extension passes it to that same website's service worker in your browser. The worker verifies the key against encrypted content and stores a nonextractable decryption key in that website's IndexedDB storage so you can reopen protected pages. The extension does not save the key in its own storage or send it to an amoosed.com membership server. The website's own code runs at its origin and can use its stored key to decrypt content.
Sharing and retention
The extension makes requests to the website you chose to inspect. That website and its hosting provider can receive those requests under their own privacy practices. The extension has no telemetry or advertising-tracking service. The amoosed.com information panel contains a link to this website; opening it is an ordinary navigation. This site's demo video loads from YouTube only after you click Play; YouTube may then receive your browser's request. The site-owned saved key stays in your browser until you use Forget key on this device or clear that website's site data. Removing the extension alone may not clear a website's IndexedDB storage.
Your choices
You can decline a site's access request, close the side panel, forget a saved key, or remove the extension. Chrome's extension settings let you review or revoke granted site access. For questions about this prototype, contact the publisher through the contact information on the Chrome Web Store listing or the linked LinkedIn profile.
A participating website controls its own Amoosed mode app. Its content, requests, storage, and any account features are governed by that website's practices.
